Amanda is Becta's Policy Advisor for 14-19. She supports Becta's role as strategic advisor to government and partners in the use of ICT, e-learning and educational technologies. Her main focus is to identify and develop, with partners, strategies for integrating the use of ICT and e-learning in 'mainstream' educational policies. Amanda has concentrated on the implications of the 14-19 reform agenda, and has worked closely with DfES and others to identify the necessary place of technology in supporting implementation. Most recently she has been part of the Becta team working with JISC to advise DfES on the areas of e-assessment and e-portfolios, ensuring that advice on policy development is evidence based and tightly linked to practice.
